Lulu
Vice Lead
I’m Lulu, Vice Lead for Bucks and Mum (at the moment) of 1 little boy.
I’ve recently joined the MNVP, and spent my pregnancy under the care of the Perimental Health Team. This is something that I really care about- especially as it’s estimated that it’s believed to affect between 10-20% of all birthing people during their pregnancy and in the year after their birth. I look forward to working with the community and the NHS Trust to try and ensure positive maternity experiences become the new normal.
In my spare time, you tend to find me outdoors- whether that’s on a run with my little boy in tow, or somewhere in the garden making a mess (or trying to fit everyone in the car for a trip to Cornwall- my happy place!). I still work full time in my current legal role, for an ambulance trust.
Lisa
Equity, Inclusion & Engagement Lead
I’m Lisa, the Equity, Inclusion & Engagement Lead. I am also a mum of two little ones. During mat leave for the first time I started a coffee morning for local families. Through these mornings I was hearing a wide range of experiences and it spurred me on to join the MNVP. I aim to help ensure people of all backgrounds and identities have the opportunity to feed back their experiences of the maternity services in a safe and welcoming environment.
Shamaila
Co Lead
I’m Shamaila, mum to three little ones (4, 3 and 1) and joined Bucks MNVP in 2022 as Vice Lead. As a Muslim woman from the South Asian community, I was keen to hear from ethnic minority groups in light of the health inequalities that were brought to light and as a result set up our very first Mamas & Babas Group which is still running to support women from diverse communities.
I stepped up to Co Lead in January 2024 and have continued to work with the Trust to find creative ways to improve maternity services with a special focus on antenatal education, homebirth and personalised care.
I enjoy baking, listening to a good podcast, walks and discussing the affairs of the world with my own spiritual outlook.
Leanne
Treasurer
I’m Leanne, Treasurer for Bucks MNVP and the longest standing member of the committee.
I am a mum of 2 boys and a Hypnobirthing and Antenatal teacher based in Tring. I have taught hundreds of parents locally and I believe that the MNVP gives people a voice and a chance to engage with their maternity service and help push for change.
When I am not immersed in the world of birth, I like to try and help with local environmental groups to care for our planet children’s future.
An amazing team
The MNVP includes a hardworking core of volunteers made up of parents, local birth workers, antenatal teachers, hypnobirthing practitioners and more. You are likely to come across them in local groups and out in the community collecting feedback.
We also have a wide representation of staff from across the NHS and related professions. In addition to the MNVP leads and volunteers at meetings we will also usually have in attendance the Director and Head of Midwifery, Consultant Midwife, Antenatal, NICU leads, Labour Ward and Postnatal ward representatives, GP's, Obstetric representative, Infant Feeding Team representative, Health Visiting representative, Bucks CCG Representative, Healthwatch representative, Bucks New University representative and many more.
Khairun
Engagement Lead
Hello, my name is Khairun and I have 3 young children. I joined first as a mama attending the mamas and babas session where I heard about Bucks MNVP which then led me to the Engagement Lead role.
It’s a very fulfilling and rewarding role which gives me an opportunity to make a positive impact for mothers, newborns and also for the community. I hope to continue making the changes and playing a part in improving the outcome for everyone.
Ashleigh
Co Lead
I’m Ashleigh, Mum to 3 gorgeous children.
I had three very different experiences of pregnancy and labour especially as there is only 11 months between my youngest two children.
I am passionate about maternity & neonatal care and advocating for all women and birthing people, from all walks of life including, but not limited to LGBTQIA+, young parents, ethnic minorities and the gypsy traveller community. I am currently supporting our Bereavement Lead to ensure these parents also have a voice and receive support.
I strive to create a positive relationship with our trust team and support staff morale.
I’ve previously worked in Charity Finance & H.R but women’s health, maternity and neonatal care is where my passion lies. I joined the MNVP as Co Lead in December 2021.
Zenab
Mama's & Baba's Lead
I’m Zenab, I joined after attending our Mama’s and Baba’s sessions in High Wycombe. She now runs the sessions for Mamas and Babas promoting BMNVP and supporting the engagement lead. To help gather feedback for maternity services in the Bucks area also. A great example of peer led support
Becca
Neonatal Lead
I’m Becca and I’m Neonatal Lead for Buckinghamshire MNVP. I joined the team in November 2023.
I have three children, all of whom I had completely different birth experiences with. My youngest spent some time in Transitional Care and as a result, I felt passionate about joining MNVP and trying to make a difference.
My background is legal and I also volunteer as a Witness Support for Citizens Advice, supporting vulnerable people. Vice Lead for Bucks and Mum (at the moment) of 1 little boy.

Lauren
Bereavement Lead
I’m Lauren. Bereavement Lead for MNVP. Mum to three children, one of whom was born sleeping.
Nothing can prepare you for losing a child. But after experiencing such a profound loss, I began to appreciate the importance of support from those who truly understand.
I started working for MNVP in January 2024. My aim is to be able to offer families a safe space to grieve and the opportunity to meet and be around people who comprehend the gravity of child loss. I endeavour to make the services available to us as good as they can be, to help us begin to move forwards. None of us want to be walking this path, and I am passionate that we will do it together.
